In 1980s Britain, thirteen-year-old Will Sheridan builds a cinema in his bedroom. Armed with a Super 8 projector, boot-sale reels, and an obsessive love of movies, he seeks refuge from playground cruelty, family tension, and the heart-fluttering embarrassments of first love.

But as the world outside grows messier and adulthood looms, Will must decide whether films are just an escape, or a way of learning how to live.
